How Clevergy entities work

This section explains what happens in Clevergy when key events take place: creating or cancelling contracts, changing the holder, or deleting users and houses. It's meant to help you understand the automatic behaviors of the platform so you can operate with confidence.

New contract​

Creating a contract for a user on a given CUPS.

What happens automatically:

  • The contract becomes active and, if an FTP integration is created, data starts being collected from the contract's start date.
  • The end user can see their consumption in the app as soon as data becomes available.
  • If the CUPS was previously used by another client in your tenant, the new user cannot see the previous client's data.
  • If the CUPS already had an active contract, the previous contract is automatically deactivated.

Change of holder​

A change of holder happens when a different user gets a contract for a CUPS that was previously active under another user.

What happens automatically:

  • The previous contract is deactivated and stops receiving data.
  • The new contract becomes active and starts receiving data from its start date.
  • The previous user keeps access to their historical data.
  • The new user only sees data associated with their contract from its start date.
  • Solar installations set up by the commercializer using installer credentials are not transferred automatically to the new user. They remain available in the portal and can be assigned manually.
  • Devices connected personally by the previous user (solar inverters, smart devices, EVs, etc.) are disconnected. The new user needs to connect their own devices from the app.

Contract cancellation​

A cancellation happens when a contract ends without being replaced by a new contract.

What happens automatically:

  • The contract is deactivated.
  • Data stops being collected.
  • Solar installations set up by the commercializer using installer credentials are kept in the portal, but are no longer linked to the user. They can be reassigned later if a new user takes over the CUPS.
  • Devices connected personally by the user (solar inverters, smart devices, EVs, etc.) are disconnected.
  • The user's house becomes inactive in the app.
  • Historical data remains stored and can still be accessed by the original user.

User deletion​

What happens automatically:

  • All of the user's contracts are deleted, including any associated invoices.
  • All of the user's houses are deleted. Historical energy data associated with the user, including consumption and production data, is deleted.
  • All user-connected devices and their associated data are deleted.
  • The user's personal data is removed.

House deletion​

A house can only be deleted if it has no active contracts.

What happens automatically:

  • If the house has any active contract, the deletion is blocked.
  • If all contracts are inactive, or the house has no contracts, it can be deleted.
  • All associated contracts and invoices are deleted as part of the operation.
  • All user-owned equipments connected to the house are deleted, as well as their data.
  • Tenant-owned equipments, such as solar equipment connected through installer credentials, are not deleted. They remain without an associated house.

Key rules to keep in mind​

  • One active contract per CUPS: A CUPS can only have one active contract at a time. Creating a new one automatically deactivates the previous one.
  • No active contract means no data: Once a CUPS has no active contract, new data stops being collected. Historical data is always preserved if user or house is not deleted.
  • B2C connections are personal: Devices connected directly by the end user (solar inverters, smart devices, EVs, etc.) are disconnected when the contract is cancelled or the holder changes. The new user must connect their own devices.
  • Installer solar remains available to the commercializer: Solar installations connected using installer credentials remain in the portal after a cancellation or change of holder. The connection and all data associated with those devices are deleted. They are not automatically assigned to the new user.
