Shelly integration

The Shelly integration allows to connect and manage smart devices for energy monitoring and control.

Setup from the portal

From the Integrations section, administrators can configure the Shelly integration in the Smart Devices section.
To enable this integration for your users, check in Settings if it is activated. If the integration doesn't appear, you can request activation.

Setup from the app

To set up your Shelly devices in the app, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Profile → Connections.
  2. Click on Shelly to start the connection process.

A screen to Connect your devices will appear. Choose Connect to assign your Shelly Plug S or Shelly EM to your home.

  • Enter your Shelly credentials (email and password) to authorize the connection.
  • Check Activate integration to enable data monitoring.
  • Optionally, enable Control the device if you want to control it through the app.
  • Device type is detected automatically and cannot be changed.

Once connected, your Shelly devices will appear in the Smart Devices list in the app, ready for monitoring and control.

Check the module here.

Device configuration

Shelly Plug S (standard appliances)

Once linked, the Plug S will appear without the “Unassigned” label.

  • You can:
    • Assign or modify the category (e.g., lamp, electric heater).
    • Review and edit device settings.
    • Rename the device from the Shelly Cloud app or web.
    • Remove the device from the app when needed.
  • Once configured, it provides:
    • Real-time consumption data
  • If control permissions are granted, a switch will appear next to the device to turn it on/off remotely.

Shelly EM (aerothermal or main circuits)

Typically used for aerothermal systems, but can also monitor any major circuit.

  • If unconfigured, the device will show an “Unassigned” label.
  • You must:
    • Assign it to the "Aerothermal" category (or other main circuit type).
    • Confirm by clicking Save.
  • Once configured, it provides:
    • Real-time consumption data
    • Daily energy balance and trends
  • As with other devices, you can remove the EM from the app at any time.
  • Device naming must be managed from the Shelly Cloud platform.
note

When Shelly EM measures solar or energy grid:

  • If no other device is present, Shelly data is used.
  • If another inverter or grid meter is connected (e.g. Datadis), their data takes priority.

Common issues and solutions

Device connection loss in aerothermal monitoring

Usually caused by weak Wi-Fi connection.

  • Try moving the router closer.
  • If the issue persists, instant power data may be unavailable at times, but consumption tracking continues for historical data analysis.

Sudden shutdown of Shelly Plus Plug S: appliance stops receiving power

The appliance may have hit a power limit set in Shelly Cloud.

To fix:

  • Open Shelly Plus Plug S settings in the Shelly app.
  • Adjust the maximum power threshold to 2500W.
  • Click Save.

To prevent future shutdowns, enable default power-on mode in Shelly Cloud, so the plug automatically turns on if it shuts off.
